 ​​Let the fun begin-

We are Lee and Jennifer Haugan born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago.  As unhappy "empty nesters" and both our kids living in Oregon- we picked up and moved in 2011. We now reside on five acres in Redmond Oregon with beautiful views of Smith Rock in our back yard and the Cascades in the front yard.  We fell in love with Alpacas and the way they made us smile whenever we are around them.  Once we built a barn, installed the fencing and got solid mentoring from Sharon, Don, and Austin Greene of Snow Diamond Alpaca we were ready for our new adventure.

​Boot Scootin' Alpaca got started with two female and one male alpaca that were purchased from Snow Diamond Alpaca in Bend Oregon and delivered in August of 2014.  We added a white male and have (9) crias so far.  I admit that our adventure started with Alpaca as lawn ornaments - which lead to breeding - then to a whole new world and appreciation of the fantastic fiber we harvest once a year. We are learning about spinning and weaving and making new friends with every turn.  

Most importantly we are still smiling and enjoying the calm happy feelings we have when we are with our Alpacas ... they are comfort animals on steroids!
